How the Wellswood Cat Came to Be

The story solves the mystery of a stray cat ferreting out and taking up residence at the Wellswood, an exclusive restaurant in Vermont. Mr. Daniels, a land surveyor, after saving a litter of kittens from drowning, adopts one special kitty to be his co-pilot  as he jaunts about the countryside.  The setting of the story is the estate of noted American artist, Maxfield Parrish.  The author of the story worked there and was inspired by the Green Mountains glowing with the azure sky and prism tinged sunsets that abound in New England.
