NIGHT OWL NIGHT

Sova's mom studies owls and other birds. When Sova is finally old enough, she gets to join her mother at work! Together they fly off into the evening, hoping to see a saw-whet owl migrating.  If an owl comes, they will measure it, weigh it, and mark it for its journey. Most important, Sova and her mother will share what they learn with other scientists. But Sova is not sure an owl will come.  She wonders whether the birds know that she's not a night owl after all. Together, in the dark of the night, Sova and mother stay wide awake--and try hard to be patient.
