Mount Battie's Christmas Star

Since the 1960s, the midcoast town of Camden, Maine has worked together in a Christmas tradition. The book is written in verse and realistically illustrated for the 4-8-year-old, although all ages will enjoy this heart-warming story. The community transports a 23-foot star to the top of Mount Battie and places it on the tower. Volunteers drive up the mountain to "light" the star each night from Thanksgiving through New Year's. The Christmas star is visible from the town and is a beacon of hope and cheer each holiday season.
