Liberty Biscuit

There is a theme of inclusion. The 13 y/o protagonist's family is mixed race, but that does not define the story. The setting is the rural South. There are peach biscuits, a mystery, long-buried secrets, and a shocking discovery in the attic of Grandpa's barn. And, the best part, a precious bedraggled little donkey who adds his own style of shenanigans and hi-jinks.
