Angela Henderson & Rachael Koppendrayer
A young boy named Isaac visits his tree to keep it from getting lonely in the winter. He climbs the branches and enjoys his snack, leaving a little bit behind on a branch for his tree. After leaving strawberries, Isaac returns the next day to see his tree covered not only in snow but also topped off with a surprise: a red snowball! He climbs the branches and discovers it’s not an ordinary snowball; it’s ice cream—Strawberry Ice Cream!!! The magical journey begins as each time Isaac leaves a yummy fruity gift, it turns into ice cream: Oranges into orange sorbet ice cream, bananas, limes, blueberries, blackberries and grapes, form a rainbow array of ice cream on top of his tree. But Isaac is worried that someone will discover the magic until an even worse problem occurs: rain! Isaac’s head hangs down as the magic disappears until he sees the rainbow puddles, which then form rainbow clouds, which soon pours out spring’s rainbow sprinkles— reminding him that even when the magic seems gone, always look for the rainbow!
