PENGUIN AND THE CITY

PENGUIN AND THE CITY is a children's picture book written for young audiences age 9 months to 5 years. It uses verbal humor and whimsical drawings to illustrate that it's ok to feel different in a new environment.A penguin in New York City grapples with adjusting to human life, including playing sports and learning how to take a bath, and finally discovers and enjoys one of the most universal experiences of life in the big city – taking the subway. In this story, readers are introduced to a gender-neutral penguin who illustrates critical developmental goals in fun vignettes: confidence; willingness to try and fail; and staying true to yourself, especially in challenging environments.It can also be seen as a love letter to New York City.
