Elizabeth Vollstadt and Marcella Fisher Anderson
This collection of 15 short stories shows events of the American Revolutions through the eyes of children and teens. In one story a young girl stands up to British soldiers in Concord on April 19, 1775, and keeps them from finding important patriot papers. Another brings to life Washington's crossing of the Delaware on Christmas night, 1776, when a boy and his dog capture a Tory spy after the crossing. This book is an ideal read for the child who finds history boring, as the stories are easy to read and exciting. Unfortunately the book is out of print, but still available as a Kindle book.
