Equity and Inclusion Scholarships – Due: FEB 1, 2026, 10:00 PM
Two scholarships for the Art Day 2025 event are available for:
- writers and/or illustrators whose finances prevent them from attending our conference AND
- are from underserved communities, including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities AND
- live in our regional area: Long Beach, Orange County, San Bernardino County, Riverside County AND
- follow our region on the website (Member Home, Edit My Profile, Manage My Regions, California: SoCal). You don't have to be a paying member to apply.
Submission guidelines:
You can submit your application by by providing the following information:
- Your name, email, and contact phone number
- Whether you are an SCBWI member (need not be to enter)
- Statement of intent (how would winning this scholarship help you put forward an underrepresented voice?)
- Include a one-page writing or illustration sample saved as Word or PDF.
Please upload your submission into THIS FORM by Feb. 1, 2026, 10:00 PM.
Scholarship winners will be notified by Feb. 2nd, 2026 . Scholarship awards are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
