Behind the Scenes Look at MacMillan Publishing
Friday, January 16, 10am - 12pm
Exclusive opportunity for twenty five people to visit a New York Publishing house and mingle with editors at Macmillan Children's Publishing Group. A tour of the offices will follow a presentation by esteemed editors that will include what they publish and what they are looking for. You will also be allowed to submit a pitch for your manuscript BEFORE the conference so that the team can review it, and if it fits their wish list, they will contact you! (Details of how to submit your pitch will be emailed to your before the conference). Transportation to the event is NOT provided.
There are no refunds given for the Macmillan tour.

Exclusive opportunity for twenty five people to visit a New York Publishing house and mingle with editors at Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House. A tour of the offices will follow a presentation by esteemed editors that will include what they publish and what they are looking for. (NOTE: Delacorte dioes NOT publish picture books). You will also be allowed to submit a pitch for your manuscript BEFORE the conference so that the Delacorte team can review it, and if it fits their wish list, they will contact you! Transportation to the event is NOT provided.

A Private Viewing of the Society of Illustrators’s Original Art Exhibition
Join fellow conference attendees for this incredible event, hosted by the SCBWI Advisory Council Illustration Committee, which will include a special presentation by Pat Cummings, Laurent Linn, and Cecilia Yung, followed by an exclusive viewing of this prestigious exhibition.
Now in its 45th year, the Original Art Show is an annual exhibit created to showcase illustrations from the year’s best children’s books published in the U.S. It’s a marvelous opportunity to examine—up close—over 200 original paintings, drawings, prints, and collages from current books selected by a jury of children’s book illustration professionals. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to view this stunning art and mingle with fellow attendees and conference faculty. Limited to 100 attendees. Registration will include museum entry, one copy of the exhibition catalog, and one complementary drink ticket. (A cash bar will be available.)
