Behind the Scenes at Macmillan Publishing - Friday, March 5, from 10am to 12pm

Have you ever wondered what it looks like inside of a real New York City publishing office? Now is your chance to find out! Macmillan Children's Publishing Group editors Mekisha Telfer and Kat Brzozowski will take twenty-five conference attendees behind the scenes at the Macmillan office in Manhattan, giving rare insights into how the acquisitions and publication process works. They'll allow ample time for questions, so come curious! You'll leave with valuable information, new connections, and a peek behind the curtain of the publishing industry. You will also be allowed to submit a pitch for your manuscript BEFORE the conference. Kat and Mekisha will react to some of the pitches live during the tour! ATTENTION ILLUSTRATORS: This tour happens at the same time as the one-on-one PORTFOLIO consultations and may not end in time for you to make the portfolio showcase drop-off. Therefore, if you are participating in a portfolio consult or the portfolio showcase, register for one of the afternoon tours below. Transportation to and from the tour in NOT provided.

Behind the Scenes at Delacorte Press - Friday, March 5, from 2pm to 4pm

Exclusive opportunity for twenty five people to visit Delacorte and mingle with editors at Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House. A tour of the offices will follow a presentation by esteemed editors that will include what they publish and what they are looking for. (NOTE: Delacorte does NOT publish picture books). You will also be allowed to submit a pitch for your manuscript BEFORE the conference so that the Delacorte team can review it, and if it fits their wish list, they will contact you! Transportation to the event is NOT provided.

Behind the Scenes at Little Brown Books for Young Readers - Friday, March 5, from 2pm to 4pm

Exclusive opportunity for twenty-five people to visit Little Brown and mingle with editors and designers at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers (a division of Hachette Book Group). A tour of the Hachette offices will follow a presentation by LBYR staff that will include what they publish and what they are looking for. You will also be allowed to submit a pitch for your manuscript BEFORE the conference so that the team can review it, and if it fits their wish list, they will contact you! (Details of how to submit your pitch will be emailed to your before the conference). Transportation to the event is NOT provided.

There are a very limited number of spaces available for each tour. They traditionally sell out within MINUTES so please prepare to register early. All tours are non-refundable and are open to SCBWI Premium Members only.
