The Author Mentorship is open to Unpublished SCBWI Premium Members to work directly with Hillary Fazzari, Agent, Bradford Literary Agency. Registration opens on Sunday, September 28th at 7 p.m. (PT) for SCBWI San Diego Home Region Premium Members. If mentorship spots are still available, Non-San Diego Home Region Premium members may register on October 1. (If you are not a San Diego Home Region Member and you register before October 1, you will be removed from the mentorship program.) AUTHOR MENTORSHIP IS FULL.

Hillary Fazzari, Agent, Bradford Agency

Hillary Fazzari (she/her) joined the Bradford Literary Agency as the agency’s assistant in 2022 before moving into agenting in 2023. Prior to that, she served as a long-term reader and editor for another literary agency, interned at Writers House, and worked for Scholastic. She's a highly editorial agent and works with a broad range of categories and age bands from picture books to adult fiction and nonfiction. HILLARY'S CRITIQUE PREFERENCES FOR THE MENTORSHIP: PB (text alone OR text + illustrations), chapter books, middle-grade, novels in verse, graphic novels for kids (text + illustration), YA, New Adult, nonfiction .

The Author Mentorship is open to Unpublished SCBWI San Diego Home Region Members to work directly with Fazzari.

Registration opens on Sunday, September 28, at 7 p.m. (PT) for SCBWI San Diego Home Region Members. If mentorship spots are still available, Non-San Diego Home Region SCBWI members may register on October 1. (If you are not a San Diego Home Region Member and you register

before October 1, you will be removed from the mentorship program.)

We expect this Mentorship opportunity to fill up quickly, so mark your calendars.

Mentorship Fees:

$170 – SCBWI Premium Members/Season Ticket Holder

$190 – SCBWI Premium Members (No Season Ticket)

Author Mentorship Timeline: (Pacific Time)

September 28, at 7 p.m. Registration opens for San Diego SCBWI residents.

October 1 at 7 p.m. Registration opens for SCBWI members who reside outside San Diego.

October 17, by 10 p.m.: Mentees receive a link to their Google Folders. (Save your Google

Folder link until the end of the Mentorship. You will use it to upload your work and to see

comments for each critique round.)

October 25: Mentees upload their submissions to their Google Folders on or before this date,

according to the above Submission directions.

December 1: Gold Forms and notes on the submission are returned to Google Folders.

December 2,3,4 from 4-7 p.m. (PT): 1st Round of Critiques. These virtual critiques are 15

minutes each.

Round 2: Feb 9, 2026, by noon: Mentees submit 2nd round of work via Google Folders

Mentees upload revised or new pages to the Google Folder.

March 15: Gold Forms and notes on the submission are returned to Google Folders.

March 17-19 from 4-7 p.m.: 2nd Round of Critiques. These virtual critiques are 15 minutes

each.

March 19, from 7-8 p.m., 1-hour Q&A. An additional one-hour Zoom Meet-and-Greet Q&A where Fazzari will answer questions from the mentees. The meeting will be recorded and available for thirty days.
