School and library visits are a great way for authors and illustrators to connect with readers and the teachers and librarians who buy the books. This two-part webinar series addresses how to develop your program, and how to reach out to schools and libraries for booking opportunities.
Panelists will share their insight into developing an effective and fun program. Kathy Halsey will address things that authors and illustrators need to think about as they develop a program. Alisha Gabriel will talk about adapting programs for different age groups and different venues. Brianne Farley will share what an illustrator visit might look like.
Kathy Halsey, children’s author, is a former English teacher and K-12 school librarian with an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Supervision. While a school librarian, she coordinated 15 successful school visits.
Alisha Gabriel is an award-winning children’s book author who loves talking about science and nature! Her co-authored middle grade book, Funky Fungi: 30 Activities for Exploring Molds, Mushrooms, Lichens, and More, won the 2023 AAAS/Subaru SB&F Book Prize for Excellence in Science Books.
