2026 Fall Conference Scholarship
The William B. Hooks Annual Scholarship was established in 2009 to honor this founding member of the SCBWI Carolinas Chapter. All attendees of the 2024 Fall Conference are entered into the drawing for the Hooks Scholarship to receive free conference registration for the 2026 Fall Conference (or next conference to occur). Drawing will be held Sunday, Sept 22, 2024 during Awards.

2024 Scholarships - Underrepresented Voices
SCBWI Carolinas is pleased to offer a scholarship opportunity for attendees from marginalized or underrepresented communities. Two scholarships will be awarded for a year’s free membership in SCBWI. Previous winners not eligible.
This scholarship opportunity is open to registered attendees of the Carolinas 2024 Fall Conference who are members of underrepresented or marginalized communities based on disability, race/ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Applicants will be asked to provide a brief Artist’s Statement (100 words or less), describing your creative journey and what impact SCBWI membership would have on your career.
- During registration, select the checkbox for Apply for Underrepresented Voices Scholarship. Find the application under the MY EVENTS tab of your Member Home. Click the green MEETING INFO button.
- Winners will be selected by an independent panel of judges from marginalized or underrepresented communities.
- Deadline to apply: July 25th, 2024 11:59 pm ET
