PB Dummy Review OR Portfolio Review

PB Dummy Review in 4 easy steps:

1. Prep materials. Prepare a multipage PDF of your sketched book dummy (32 - 40 page layout).
2. Label your file. One PDF file, only, labeled Last Name, Title, Faculty Name: LastName_Title_Faculty.pdf
3. Submit + Schedule. Use the form found under the MY EVENTS tab of your Member Home to submit your materials and select an available meeting time.

• Deadline to submit: Saturday, Oct 4th, 2025 at 11:59 pm ET

4. Join the Zoom.

• Critique meetings will be held the week of Monday, Nov 10th, 2025.
• Find the Zoom link to join under the MY EVENTS tab of your SCBWI Member Home. Join the Zoom a few minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. Sessions are booked back-to-back—if you are late, your session will still end on time. Missed appointments may not be rescheduled. Another attendee has paid for the appointment right after yours. Be considerate of this and exit the meeting when time is called.
• Take a deep breath. Come with open ears and prepared questions. The benefit to critique is receiving professional feedback on how we can improve our work.

PRO TIP: If you make changes to your file after submitting, critique faculty will no longer have the most updated version. These faculty spend time critiquing the version you send, so submit your FINALIZED version and do not make additional changes to your dummy after you submit it. Wait for faculty feedback, that way you can incorporate their feedback into your revisions.

Portfolio Review in even fewer steps:

1. Prep materials. Portfolios are not submitted ahead of time. Bring your portfolio with you to your review meeting.

• One portfolio, 10 images
• Maximum Size: 18” x 24” closed
• Copies or prints only, no original art
• Name: your name and contact information must be on your portfolio
• WiFi is available for digital portfolios. To avoid the possibility of technical difficulties, consider downloading your portfolio if you wish to show it on your device.

2. Schedule your meeting. Find the form to schedule your meeting under the MY EVENTS tab of your SCBWI Member Home.
