In this session, Daniel will share about his graphic novel HOW TO SAY GOODBYE IN CUBAN. He will discuss the transition from picture books to graphic novels as well as share his process and approach for creating a graphic novel. Learn about visual storytelling, thumb nailing, dummy art, the research process and everything you need to know about creating a graphic novel. Bio: Daniel Miyares is a critically acclaimed author-illustrator of numerous books for young readers. His recent graphic novel, How To Say Goodbye in Cuban, received a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor Award as well as a GNCRT Outstanding Comics Award Honor. The New York Times has called Daniel's work "stunning" and "versatile." Currently he's happily making more books and living with his family in Lenexa, Kansas.
