Critique Carousel

Want the opportunity to put your manuscript in the hands of an acquiring agent or editor? Then SCBWI-MI's Critique Carousel event is for you!

We have partnered with spectacular acquiring agents, editors, and one art director who will critique:

Picture books (fiction and nonfiction)

Chapter books (fiction and nonfiction)

Middle grade (fiction and nonfiction)

YA (fiction and nonfiction)

Graphic novels (fiction and nonfiction)

Picture book dummies

Portfolios

Up to 10 critiques per agent/editor/art director (some offering more), first come, first served. One critique may be purchased per Michigan-SCBWI member (This event may open up to other regions for the last few days of the event)

Each agent/editor will be open to queries from the people they critique for up to six months (submission instructions are provided post- critique).

Critique Carousel registration opens to SCBWI-MI members at 7:00 p.m. September 18th, 2023. It opens to all regions on September 26th at 7:00 am.

It will close at 11:00 p.m. October 2nd, 2023.

One critique per person when registration opens.
