Ryan G. Van Cleave, Ph.D. (they/them), is the Editorial Director at Bushel & Peck Books, Contributing Editor for Writer’s Digest magazine, and the founder of The Picture Book Doctor™, where they help celebrities and thought leaders bring kidlit stories to life on the page, stage, and screen. Ryan has authored 100+ books and ghosted or edited dozens more. They also teach creative writing at Ringling College of Art and Design and run the Only Picture Books blog. They’re known for their sharp editorial eye, deep industry insight, and commitment to helping storytellers thrive in today’s children’s book market.
