From Cookbooks to Children’s Books: Writing What You Know

Nov 14, 2023

Online event

Many children’s book authors have taken a meandering path to get to where they are now. Patricia Tanumihardja is no exception. Pat will talk about how her experience as a freelance food journalist and cookbook author has prepared her for writing for children, and how she “writes what she knows” by translating food and cooking ideas into inspiration for her stories. Pat will also share experiences that she’s gathered from other published authors who write what they know. And for those who are interested in freelance writing, she can provide some tips to get you started.

Date: November 14, 2023
