In this webinar, author-illustrator Jonathan Roth will provide an overview of this ever-expanding art form and give lots of creator tips on how to write, format, illustrate and submit your ideas. This webinar will be geared toward writers and/or illustrators (you don’t have to do both!) of all kidlit genres and subjects.
Though kids have loved comics for ages, the recent boom in graphic novels for young readers has been explosive. Many who have honed their writing or illustrating skills on picture books and novels suddenly see a new avenue for story-telling, but may be unfamiliar with how to get started. In this webinar, author-illustrator Jonathan Roth will provide an overview of this ever-expanding art form and give lots of creator tips on how to write, format, illustrate and submit your ideas. This webinar will be geared toward writers and/or illustrators (you don’t have to do both!) of all kidlit genres and subjects. Jonathan Roth is an Earth-bound but space loving author-illustrator of fun, STEAM-themed books for kids including the chapter book series Beep and Bob (Aladdin/S&S), the graphic novel series Rover and Speck (Kids Can Press) and the amazing true story Almost Underwear: How a Piece of Cloth Traveled from Kitty Hawk to the Moon and Mars(Christy Ottaviano Books/Little, Brown Books for Young Readers), which is a Kirkus Best Picture Book of 2024. He also teaches art to elementary students in Maryland.
