PUTTING YOUR BEST FIRST PAGE FORWARD: A Workshop with The Little Press Editor Lynne Marie. Join multi-published, award-winning picture book mentor, author and editor Lynne Marie for an enlightening and informative two-hour workshop featuring information and insights on how to make your first page grab an Editor or Agent's attention. The remainder of the presentation will focus on live first page feedback and includes a submission opportunity for a full, if requested, or an entirely new project. Lynne will accept first pages in any kid-lit genre, but is particularly interested in picture book projects.
Florida SCBWI members (Premium, Free Trial, or Florida member by choice), please join us as we present the first event in our Free series, “I-Can Write a Great First Page”. This is a great opportunity to connect with an editor and with fellow members to see what is happening in the publishing world to help you become a stronger writer. Lynne Marie’s feedback is going to be invaluable!—And, it’s FREE!
Lynne Marie, an editor with The Little Press, will spend 30 minutes guiding us through editors’ first page expectations and the remaining 90 minutes giving feedback on first pages our members submit that will help everyone learn how to strengthen their stories.
Members are invited to submit a first page from a work in progress. Lynne Marie will only be able to discuss a limited number of submissions in 90 minutes. Yours may be one of them!
DATE: Sunday, May 4, 2025, 2-4pm (EST)
This workshop will be presented in Zoom. Details will be shared under Events on your Member Home Page after registering.
