Meet the Speaker
Lian Cho
Lian Cho (She/her) is an award-winning Taiwanese author and illustrator of goofy picture books. She is currently based in Brooklyn but was raised in both Taiwan and New Zealand. After graduating from SVA in 2019, Lian has worked with publishers such as HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, and Abrams Books. Lian loves painting outlandishly exaggerated characters and finding ways to make readers laugh until their stomachs hurt. In her spare time, Lian likes to make funny comics for her newsletter and watch terrible tv shows.

Zu Gong
Zu Gong (she/her) is a picture book illustrator based in Berkeley, California. She is a 2023 We Need Diverse Book mentee and is currently seeking presentation. Zu is enthusiastic about drawing characters with big feelings and crafting storytelling illustrations using a mix of media, including pastel, ink and digital tools.
