SCBWI AZ will be hosting a Critique-nic designed to help members enhance their critiquing skills, offer an opportunity to practice those skills, and connect with other like-minded individuals. Share your work and enhance your critiquing skills. Illustrators, Picture Book, Middle Grade & YA writers bring your portfolios and manuscripts for review.

NOTE: THIS IS A FREE EVENT FOR SCBWI MEMBERS BUT YOU MUST REGISTER TO ENSURE SEATING AS SEATING IS LIMITED.

When registering, make sure that you are logged into the system. Non-Members will not be able to attend!

Materials Required:

Writers: Bring 5 copies of no more than 5 pages of your current Work In Progress, printed on 8.5″ x 11″ paper, double-spaced, in 12-point readable font, with 1-inch margins. On the first page of the document, the author’s name and contact information appears in the top left corner.

Illustrators: Bring your current portfolio.

9:00 am:  Check-in & Mingle

9:30 am – 9:45 am:  Brief Overview of Critiquing and Feedback Process

9:45 am – 11:45 am:  Break Into Groups for Practicum

11:45 am – 12:00 pm:  Close and Final Thoughts
