Lisa’s last query workshop sold out because one of the hardest things about querying agents is being confident that your query is both pitching a marketable idea in the current publishing landscape AND faithfully representing your story. We are so close to our own work, seeing those two parts clearly can be difficult.

Submit your current query letter for the opportunity for a live critique. Lisa will pick 4 query letters to critique during our Zoom meeting. If time permits, she will do more! You’ll see the why and the how of the changes that need to be made.
Please send your query letter directly to Lisa at [email protected] by July 7. Query letters chosen for review will be shared on screen during the workshop.
Meet Lisa Lerner
Lisa Lerner leads workshops on novels for adults, kid-lit, and more for www.writersgrotto.org. She has been writing children's stories for educational publishers such as Scholastic, McGraw Hill, and IXL for more than 20 years and is also the author of the crossover YA novel JUST LIKE BEAUTY (FSG; a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, currently in development as a movie shooting in2025).
