Lisa Thompson's Writing Process

Lisa Thompson is a best-selling author of numerous books for children. Her debut novel, The Goldfish Boy, was nominated for multiple awards including the Carnegie Medal and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. It has gone on to be published in multiple languages.

Lisa has written more critically acclaimed books including the novella, Owen and the Soldier, which was shortlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award.

The Times called her “One of our most inventive writers for children.”

In her presentation she will share her favourite writing tips, discuss overcoming self-doubt and how she tackles heavy issues but with commercial appeal.
