Marketing & Social Media Labs: Consultations & Personalized Tutorials

What is it?

For an additional cost, you can meet (virtually) one-on-one with a faculty member to discuss, to get personalized help with creating, or to get feedback on one of your marketing or social media projects.

*NOTE: Ayanna Coleman's website marketing consultations/tutorials will be held in the week following the event. All other consultations will happen during the event day.


How to participate:

Important Notes:

  • Read below carefully for a description of who is providing what kind of consultation, when consultations will be offered, and how to prepare
  • With the exception of consultations with Ayanna Coleman (see note above), virtual one-on-one consultations will be held throughout the day of the Marketing & Social Media Labs event on June 21, 2025. They will run concurrently with faculty workshops.
  • You must be registered for the session for which your chosen faculty will be presenting (for example, if you would like a Pinterest marketing consultation with Deb Gonzales, you must be registered for either the Full Day or the Morning Session; see below for more)
  • You will receive your assigned consultation time a few days before the live event
  • On the day of the event, you will be put into a break-out room with your chosen faculty at your assigned time slot
  • You are expected to attend your virtual consultation at the time you are assigned
  • To make the best use of your time together, please come to your session with requested materials, questions, and an open mind!

How to Format you Submission Materials (if applicable):

  • Faculty have requested that you send materials ahead of your scheduled consultation so they can prepare for your session. Read carefully below to find what materials your faculty requires to be submitted in advance and how they should be submitted.
  • For materials submitted to Heather Stigall, please create Word Doc or PDF and save it as Marketing Labs Consultation 2025_Your Last Name_Faculty Last Name (for example, Marketing Labs Consultation 2025_Stigall_Nielsen)

Marketing Consultation

Pinterest Marketing Consultation

• You must be registered for either the FULL DAY ticket OR the MORNING Marketing sessions to register for this consultation. • Deb will be providing a quick audit of your Pinterest platform or use the Pinterest platform to help you discover keyword options for your books, programs, and services. She will use the information and downloads referenced in the presentation as foundation for these consultations. • Requested Materials to submit in advance: Please create a document with your full name, your Pinterest handle (if you have one) and/or a link to your book, program, or services. • Please compile requested materials and links into a Word Doc or PDF and submit to Heather Stigall at [email protected] by 11:59 PM (Eastern), Wednesday, June 4, 2025. • Save your file as Marketing Labs Consultation 2025_Your Last Name_Faculty Last Name (for example, Marketing Labs Consultation 2025_Stigall_Gonzales). • Please put your file name in the subject line of your email.

Canva Consultation or Personalized Tutorial

• You must be registered for either the FULL DAY ticket OR the AFTERNOON Marketing sessions to register for this consultation. • Requested Materials to submit in advance: Please create a social media announcement post, such as for an upcoming event, book release, blog update, or portfolio update, using Canva. Also, please provide your website address and all relevant social media links, Canva username, and any specific questions ahead of your meeting so Kate can be prepared with quick answers! Canva Video Consultation or Personalized Tutorial

• You must be registered for either the FULL DAY ticket OR the AFTERNOON Marketing sessions to register for this consultation. • It would be great for participants to have a basic knowledge of how to use Canva, but it's ok if you don't. • On the day of your consultation, please have media assets ready (pg, png files of their book covers, interior spreads, layered files if available). If you don't have layered files, Nadia can show you how to cut images from a spread. • Requested Materials to submit in advance: Please include in one document your full name, some ideas of what you want to create in your 15-minute consultation session and a script for a trailer (but this can be brainstormed with Nadia as well); also, please scroll through Nadia’s socials and share which posts she created that you want to learn how to create for yourself. • Please compile requested materials and links into a Word Doc or PDF and submit to Heather Stigall at [email protected] by 11:59 PM (Eastern), Wednesday, June 4, 2025 • Save your file as Marketing Labs Consultation 2025_Your Last Name_Faculty Last Name (for example, Marketing Labs Consultation 2025_Stigall_Salomon). • Please put your file name in the subject line of your email.

Book Trailer Consultation or Personalized Tutorial

Website Marketing Consultation

• ANY participant can register for this consultation. • Note: These will take place in the week following the event. • After you register and submit payment for this consultation, you will receive a scheduler link that has an attached form you must fill out to confirm your time slot with Ayanna. You will receive an automatic confirmation with a Zoom link delivered to your email (you will be asked for your email address on the form). • The form attached to the consultation scheduler asks for all the information Ayanna needs for your consultation. Once you select your time, you will be prompted to fill out the form before it can be submitted. Some questions you can expect are: What are you struggling most with when it comes to marketing? What have you tried in the past? What are your goals for the consultation?
