Research examples of picture books or middle-grade fiction that resonate with you as a writer. Think about which authors inspire and motivate you to write. How do you relate to their characters and stories? What elements of their writing structure can you incorporate into your own work?

Please come to the meeting with a couple of titles you can use as Mentor Texts. Also, bring one book to share with everyone, and explain why you chose it as a Mentor Text. Additionally, bring a page of your writing that you believe can be enhanced and improved.
