MONTHLY MEETING: Getting Submission Ready with an Industry Insider with Madeline Smoot

The ALL Y'ALL Writers and Illustrators Conference may be over, but that doesn't mean our work is done. Now it's time to start querying the agents and editors from the conference.

But are you ready to submit your query?

Join us on May 11 as Madeline Smoot will go through the Complete Submission Checklist point by point to make sure you are clear on exactly what you need to do to put all the cards in your favor for your next submission.

Madeline Smoot is the former publisher of CBAY Books and, before that, the Editorial Director for Children’s Books at Blooming Tree Press. In other words, Madeline knows a lot about publishing and the process of bringing a book to market.

Madeline lives in Austin, Texas, with her son, a dog, and more books than should fit in any normal person’s house.

She also publishes under the names Lori Bond and Elliot Addison.

The meeting starts at 10am. However, if you can not make it in person due to distance or health, we will do our best to stream it live on Zoom. Please register to get the zoom link in your My Events section of your SCBWI account. This meeting is open (and free!) to both paid Members and Registered Users. If you have questions during the presentation, please put them in the Zoom chat.
