NE-SCBWI 2026 Virtual Agent Editor Day

Dec 13, 2026

Online event

New England SCBWI will once again be hosting Agent/Editor Day for picture books/picture book dummies, portfolios, graphic novels, middle grade/YA novels, and chapter books. Registration is planned to open November 11th at 10:00am ET Price: $90 [If all of the spots sell out, you can join the waitlist below]

What is Agent Editor Day?

Agent Editor Day is a wonderful way to get feedback on your WIP or completed work.

Attendees select a Zoom breakout room with a publishing professional (agent or editor). Up to 6 other authors/illustrators will also be in the zoom room.

Each participant has fifteen minutes to share their screen with the first five pages of their MS or their full picture book manuscript, dummy, or portfolio.

Participants will present their work for five minutes, then have ten minutes to receive feedback from the agent/editor and the group. Please be respectful of the members of your group by adhering to the time limit.

The goal of this day is to receive feedback on your work. Please listen during your critique unless asked a direct question and save your questions to the end.

An added bonus is hearing the feedback given to the others in your group. Many attendees find this insight super helpful and often applicable to their own work.

You will not need additional information such as your elevator pitch or your bio.

About a week after the event, you will receive the submission guidelines for the faculty willing to accept submissions. You have a two-month window to submit following the agent/editor's specific guidelines (Do not feel you need to send it in the next day).

Take the time to consider all of the feedback you received during your session and possibly revise with what resonated to make your work the best it can be.

Cancellation Policy

Please let us know right away if you need to cancel. Include in your message the Publishing Professional you signed up to meet. If we are able to fill your spot, you will get a full refund, minus any fees. If we cannot fill your spot, you can still take advantage of the submission opportunity after the event. Contact Pam Vaughan at [email protected] to cancel.

Note - Cancelling on the site without contacting us will not notify us of the opening so you will not be eligible for a refund. Please cancel by email only.

Abigail Frank_ed.jpg

Abigail Frank (she/her) Agent/Sanford J. Greenburger Assoc

Abigail is passionate about stories for young people, especially those that are hilarious, weird, poetic, quietly heartbreaking, and/or swoon-worthy. She gravitates towards picture books that feel entirely original, chapter books with big personalities, and novels about unforgettable teens falling in love. She’s actively looking for stories that invite more young readers to recognize themselves in the books they love, and for writing that never underestimates the characters or the audience. She wants to read anything that could make someone think: “I didn’t know books could do that.”

Alex Wolfe is an editor at Penguin Workshop, where she works on picture books, middle grade, graphic novels, young adult, and everything in between. Her adult co-agent clients include New York Times bestselling author Lucy Adlington (The Dressmakers of Auschwitz) and Reese Book Club pick Holly Smale (Cassandra in Reverse). She is looking for more fiction and nonfiction, particularly in pop culture, music, comedy, science, journalism, history, and health and wellness. Her YA clients include New York Times bestselling author Michelle Jabes Corpora (The Throne of Khetara series), Rebecca Caprara (Eva to the Max), and graphic novelists Teo Duvall (Brooms) and indie bestseller Mari Costa (Forgive-Me-Not). Middle grade is a particular favorite, especially classic, literary voices with humor and heart and/or a touch of magical realism. Her MG clients include ALA Notable author Elaine Dimopoulos (The Remarkable Rescue at Milkweed Meadow) and Caroline Carlson (The Tinkerers). Alli attends the Frankfurt and Bologna book fairs and speaks regularly at industry conferences. Outside of work, she’s happiest hiking with her rescue mutt in Prospect Park, watching classic films with her teenage son, and stealthily listening to her husband narrate an audiobook from his studio in their Brooklyn apartment."
