Live Feedback Instructions

All attendees are eligible to submit ONE of the following: a 75-word pitch, a one-page query letter, or the first 250 words of a project. This is built into the registration fee and is at no additional cost to attendees.

We recognized that participants are at different stages in their writing journey, and we want to be supportive. In the querying stage and need feedback on whether or not your query is working? Working on a pitch and need guidance? Need feedback on the execution of the opening lines of your project? Submit! Again, send ONLY ONE of the above.

The moderator will read as many submissions as possible in the 90-minute allotted time. Anna will provide live feedback on what is working in your submission and what could be improved upon.

*Note: participation in the Live Feedback session is for receiving feedback. This is not a pitch or query session.

How to Submit

If you would like the opportunity to have your submission read aloud during the Live Feedback session, submit your kidlit piece (PB, CB, MG, or YA) in standard formatting (12-point font, Times New Roman, double-spaced with one-inch margins) as a Word doc or docx (no pdf) to [email protected] by Friday, February 18. *Lyrical and poetry PBs do not have to be double-spaced.*

Include the title, genre, and age category at the top of the page. Place: Live Feedback Submission in the email subject line. Submissions will be read anonymously. Any submission that does not follow the formatting guidelines will not be considered for reading.
