New England SCBWI will once again be hosting Agent/Editor Day for picture books/picture book dummies, portfolios, graphic novels, middle grade/YA novels, and chapter books. What is Agent Editor Day?

Agent Editor Day is a wonderful way to get feedback on your WIP or completed work.

Attendees select a Zoom breakout room with a publishing professional (agent or editor). Up to 6 other authors/illustrators will also be in the zoom room.

Each participant has fifteen minutes to share their screen with the first five pages of their MS or their full picture book manuscript, dummy, or portfolio.

Participants will present their work for five minutes, then have ten minutes to receive feedback from the agent/editor and the group. Please be respectful of the members of your group by adhering to the time limit.

The goal of this day is to receive feedback on your work. Please listen during your critique unless asked a direct question and save your questions to the end.

An added bonus is hearing the feedback given to the others in your group. Many attendees find this insight super helpful and often applicable to their own work.

You will not need additional information such as your elevator pitch or your bio.

About a week after the event, you will receive the submission guidelines for the faculty willing to accept submissions. You have a two-month window to submit following the agent/editor's specific guidelines (Do not feel you need to send it in the next day).

Take the time to consider all of the feedback you received during your session and possibly revise with what resonated to make your work the best it can be.
