In this talk, I’ll share my journey as an independent author and illustrator: from developing an idea and finding the right visual language, to making, publishing, and marketing my books in a creative landscape where styles, tastes, and platforms are constantly evolving. I’ll also share some of the lessons, challenges, and unexpected discoveries I’ve made along the way.

Beatrice (aka. @ohbeatricee) is a successful independent picture book author and illustrator who writes and illustrates stories exploring themes of thoughtful adventures and new beginnings.
Her goal is to continually challenge herself in the craft of storytelling, mainly through picture books, using all the materials at her disposal to create stories that connect and comfort.
