Join Us!

Join SCBWI Oklahoma/Arkansas in Tulsa, OK, at OSU-Tulsa for our 2026 Spring Conference. It’s certain to be a weekend of creative and professional growth, connection with other creatives, and— dare I say it—just plain fun. Our conference is small enough to give you the opportunity to interact with the speakers, and large enough to bring in top-tier publishing professionals. Plus, when compared to regional conferences across the country, the price is a bargain. You don’t want to miss it.

Here are (more than) a few things to know:

  • All attendees, in-person or virtual, will be able to submit manuscripts or portfolios to our in-person and off-site faculty after the conference. Because many of our faculty are closed to unsolicited submissions, this is a distinct benefit.
  • We will offer a Virtual Conference option that will include all of the keynote speeches, Publishing Panel, “My Publishing Story” speakers, and announcements.
  • Most of the offsite faculty will be conducting face-to-face Zoom consultations with attendees this year, in addition to off-site written critiques.
  • Most of the in-person faculty will participate in preconference written critiques, in-person face-to-face consultations, and Zoom consultations.
  • Keynote speeches will be recorded and available to in-person and virtual attendees for 30 days following the conference.
  • A self-publishing expert will be included in our conference faculty for (possibly) the first time. Stats show that many of our writers are interested in both traditional and self-publishing.
  • The conference begins on Friday evening, April 7th, at 6:30pm with a keynote address, a panel discussion with our publishing professionals, door prizes, and more.
  • There will be an optional social mixer attended by our publishing professionals on Friday night after the evening program at a downtown venue, near OSU-Tulsa and the official conference hotel. Drinks and/or food are the responsibility of attendees.
  • Lunch on Saturday is included in your conference registration. There are ample spaces at the venue, inside and outside in the courtyard to eat, meet, and mingle with attendees and faculty. More information about lunch choices will be shared before the conference.
  • An optional post-conference meal with the faculty will be held on Saturday evening at the nearby Mexicali Border Café. It’s a large restaurant with easy parking. Drinks and/or food are the responsibility of attendees.
