The Tapestry of Voices Equity and Inclusion (EQI) awards were created to promote increased diversity in children’s literature, both in terms of content creators and the content itself. The contest is held annually and is open to authors and illustrators who live in the counties our region serves (Marin, Sonoma, Solano, Napa, Contra Costa, Mendocino, and Alameda). This year, we are excited to announce the 2025 winners of the EQI awards at our region's Oktoberfest conference! Winners of the award will receive one year of free membership to SCBWI (redeemable immediately) as well as free admission to one regional event or conference (redeemable within 2 years). It is our hope that by providing this opportunity, we can help amplify diverse stories and voices.
