The Oregon SCBWI Juried Portfolio Showcase is an adjudicated exhibition for illustrators attending the conference. Portfolios will be displayed for faculty and attendees to view. A jury comprised of faculty members will award prizes on complete portfolios, not on individual images.

- Open to SCBWI Standard Member conference attendees only
- $25 participation fee in addition to conference registration is required
- Space is limited to 25 participants
Awards & Prizes
- First Place - $100 Blick Art Materials gift certificate
- Second Place - $50 Blick Art Materials gift certificate
- Third Place - $25 Blick Art Materials gift certificate
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
- Drop-off: Saturday, May 30, between 8:15–9:00am at the Portfolio Showcase table
- Pick-up: Portfolios must be retrieved from the display table at the end of the day
- SCBWI is not responsible for portfolios or materials left behind.
Portfolio Showcase Guidelines
Please read the following requirements carefully; participation in the Portfolio Showcase indicates agreement with these guidelines.
- Portfolios must contain the participant’s own original artwork.
- AI-produced images are not permitted.
What to Exhibit
Portfolio
- Your name and contact information must be clearly visible in or on your portfolio
- Please indicate if you are represented by an agent
- All artwork must be your own; work created by others may not be submitted as part of your submission
- AI-generated artwork is not permitted
- One (1) portfolio permitted per participant
- Suggested content: 10–15 images
- Copies or prints only (no original artwork)
- Portfolios may not be presented in novelty formats (e.g., boxes or other 3-D structures)
- Portfolio dimensions when open should be a maximum of approximately 24” wide x 12” high
Business or Promotional Cards
- Size: up to 5” x 7”, vertical or horizontal
- 50 cards suggested
- One stack may be placed beside the portfolio
- No cardholders permitted
- No promotional swag, including bookmarks, stickers, pencils, etc.
Dummy Book (Optional)
- One (1) dummy book permitted as part of the portfolio
- Dummy may not be partially or fully published
- Dummy must be attached to your portfolio (string, yarn, or ribbon recommended)
- If the dummy includes text by a different writer, please credit the author
- Dummy books supplement, not replace, your portfolio
