Join us for an afternoon of writing and drawing. We'll start off our session with an inspirational 30min talk, The Liminal Space: Where Your Writing Thrives, from local author, Ashley Wilda. And then we'll launch into our own write-in/draw-in. Bring a project, make some new friends, and get some work done!
Ashley Wilda is a neurodivergent, queer, disabled, Arab-American writer living in Richmond, Virginia. They particularly enjoy writing young adult fiction and poetry but love reading any work whose words sing and whisper magic to the reader. Their debut novel The Night Fox, a YA magical realism tale written in poetry and prose about mental health and nature, came out on October 10th with Penguin Random House. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. In addition to writing, they love rock climbing, exploring the mountains, creating art, and adventuring with their husband, Ethan, and rescue pup, Phoenix. Find Ashley on Instagram: @ashleywilda_
