Biography
I am a Long Island New York based author illustrator of children’s books and graphic novels full of humor and heart. I am the author illustrator of the children’s graphic novels ARTY (September 2024) and the sequel ARTY TOO (May 2026) published by Monarch Educational Services. I am a graduate of SUNY College at New Paltz, BS in Art Ed. K-12 and an MA in Secondary Art Ed., Adelphi University. I am recently retired (June 2025) from my over 33 year career teaching art in the Massapequa School District in Massapequa,New York. I was inducted into the Massapequa Hall of Fame in August for my work in education and community service projects. Currently I am a speaker for Nassau BOCES and Eastern Suffolk BOCES with my program What Does An Author Illustrator Do Anyway? If you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I was quick to answer "Walt Disney”. I draw from my experiences both as a parent and from teaching when writing my stories.
I have been a member of SCBWI since 2008, and I am part of the SCBWI Long Island illustrator critique group as well as a writing critique group. I am always trying to grow and hone my craft.
