Christie Megill, Agent - The Cat Agency Inc.

Christie Megill joined The CAT Agency in 2022 and she works with artists and children’s book authors, offering long-term support in their careers and creative journeys. Storytelling is her passion, no matter the medium. Christie comes from a background in elementary education, and previously worked as an editor at an academic press in New York City, as a volunteer at the Housing Works Bookstore in SoHo, and as a bookseller at the bygone Borders Books and Music in Columbus Circle. She holds a BA in English Literature from Fordham University.

Christie will provide WRITTEN-ONLY and WRITTEN WITH 20-MINUTE ZOOM critiques

Christie will provide 5 written only manuscript/portfolio critiques and 5 written with Zoom meeting manuscript/portfolio critiques for picture books, early readers, chapter books. If you purchase one of Christie's critiques, you will need to prepare the following:

Genre – fiction, nonfiction, historical fiction, fantasy, realistic, horror, mystery, romance, biographies/memoirs, informational, humorous, STEM/STEAM, poetry/rhyming, folk tales/fairytales

Picture Books - send one complete picture book manuscript, no more than 800 words as a PDF file.

Novels - send 10 pages of the manuscript and a one-page synopsis for your better understanding of the work as a whole in one PDF file. Note: the 10 pages do not include the synopsis.

Portfolios - send a portfolio link to your online portfolio.

Your critique materials will need to be received no later than Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Post-Conference Submission Opportunity

Christie will accept submissions from attendees following the conference beginning Monday, November 16, 2026, to Tuesday, February 16, 2027.

She is open to submissions the following categories and genres.

Category – picture books, early readers, chapter books

Genre – fiction, nonfiction, historical fiction, fantasy, realistic, horror, mystery, romance, biographies/memoirs, informational, humorous, STEM/STEAM, poetry/rhyming, folk tales/fairytales

Attendees may submit their manuscripts and portfolios. Specific instructions will be provided at the conference.
