Cynthia Harmony is a bilingual children's author and educational psychologist, originally from Mexico City. Her most recent titles include APAPACHO LOVE (FSG Macmillan, 2026), FOREST EN FAMILIA/ EL BOSQUE EN FAMILIA (Yosemite Conservancy, 2026) and the highly praised A FLICKER OF HOPE & UN ALETEO DE ESPERANZA (Viking, 2024) which received a NCTE Charlotte Huck Honor Award and was selected as one of the best children's books of the year by Kirkus and the American Library Association.

Picture Books to the Point: The Right Perspective [PB]

  • Discover how to select and craft the most effective point of view for your story, elevating your narrative from simple plot to emotional experience. By exploring mentor texts that pull readers into the immediate moment, we’ll identify the right perspective that can transform a good picture book into an unforgettable one.

Participants are encouraged to bring a picture book MS to workshop.

Cynthia will provide 10 written-only critiques for board books, picture book manuscripts. If you purchase one of Cynthia's critiques, you will need to prepare the following:

Board Books, Picture Books - send one complete picture book manuscript, no more than 800 words as a PDF file.

Your critique materials will need to be received no later than Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
