Stephanie Frewell-Hill, Agent - Red Fox Literary

Stephanie Fretwell-Hill started her publishing career in 2004 at Walker Books Ltd. in London, where she sold foreign language rights. In 2011, she moved back home to Atlanta, where she spent four years at Peachtree Publishers as an editor. During her time there, her acquisitions received such honors as YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults, Bank Street Best Children’s Books of the Year, Parents’ Choice Awards, and starred reviews from major trade magazines. Stephanie joined Red Fox Literary in 2016. She represents authors and illustrators of literary fiction and narrative nonfiction picture books and middle grade. Her clients include New York Times bestselling author Kelly DiPucchio, Caldecott Honoree Drew Beckmeyer, Paddington Bear illustrator R. W. Alley, Jen Arena, Carolyn Crimi, Donna Gephart, Rita Lorraine Hubbard, and Anne Lambelet. The books she represents have won numerous awards, including Newbery Honor, Caldecott Honor, Sibert Honor, the Jane Addams Book Award, the Youth Book Prize for Social Justice, YALSA Award for Excellence in Nonfiction, and many starred reviews. Stephanie’s tastes are eclectic, but across all genres she looks for compelling, diverse voices and strong hooks combined with literary merit and classroom value. Most of all, she loves stories and art with the perfect mix of humor and heart. Stephanie lives in Asheville, NC with her polymath husband, two feisty girls, and one perfect border collie. When she isn’t working, she can often be found hiking, sewing, playing the ukulele, or hanging out at the playground.

Stephanie will provide WRITTEN WITH 20-MINUTE ZOOM critiques

Stephanie will provide 5 written with Zoom meeting manuscript critiques for picture books, chapter books, middle grade, graphic novels. If you purchase one of Stephanie's critiques, you will need to prepare the following:

Picture Books - send one complete picture book manuscript, no more than 800 words as a PDF file.

Novels - send 10 pages of the manuscript and a one-page synopsis for your better understanding of the work as a whole in one PDF file. Note: the 10 pages do not include the synopsis.

Your critique materials will need to be received no later than Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Post-Conference Submission Opportunity

Stephanie will accept submissions from attendees following the conference beginning Monday, November 16, 2026, until Sunday, May 16, 2027.

She is open to submissions the following categories and genres.

Category – picture books, chapter books, middle grade, graphic novels

Genre – fiction, nonfiction, historical fiction, realistic, mystery, biographies/memoirs, informational, humorous, STEM/STEAM

Attendees may submit their manuscripts and portfolios. Specific instructions will be provided at the conference.
