SCBWI Japan In-person Bonenkai - to be held at Tokyo Women's Plaza 6pm - 7:30pm - and then dinner at a nearby restaurant.
It’s the season of gift giving, get-togethers and a time for celebration and reflection. Join us Saturday, December 13th, for our in-person Bonenkai event and dinner.
An opportunity to share books, creative ideas around the theme of 'horses' and to wrap up the year with friends and fellow creatives.
What to bring:
A book (Picture Book, Early Reader, Middle Grade, Young Adult), published within the last 10 years. The book can be a mentor text, one that you find notable for its craft or one that you have fallen in love with and would like to recommend to others. Share with us a brief summary of the book and how it has helped you or what was craft noteworthy! It might be the perfect stocking filler.
Illustration and writing prompt – as we move toward 2026, we will be cantering our way into the Year of the Horse. We would love you to share your creativity with us around the theme of 'Horses'. Create/ share an illustration and/or a short piece of writing on this theme.
‘Tidings of comfort and joy’ – as this is a wrap-up event for the year we’d like to take some time to reflect on and celebrate everyone’s accomplishments in 2025 and share creative goals and hopes for 2026.
Following the event we hope you'll join us for dinner at a local restaurant, to continue our chat and to raise a glass of good cheer. (Make sure to register for the event and dinner option on the registration page!)
