Twenty five submission, either a query letter or a first page from a working manuscript will be read out loud and critique by Lynne Marie, Editor-Picture Books, Special Projects/Seasonal at The Little Press Publishing, critique and give feedback on query letters and first pages. Unlimited seating. Deadline for this event will July 8th. There will be no recording at this workshop. There will be no notes taken at this workshop. Participants must take their own notes.

Bio: Award Winning Picture Book Author, Editor, and Holiday Guru, Lynne Marie grew up in the music, art and creativity of the 60s. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and was adopted as a baby. As a child she grew up on Long Island, and spent her time coloring, drawing, reading and playing with her beloved plastic dinosaurs (which she still has). Always celebrating a love of literature! Formats for First Pages and Query Letters must be adhered:

Font: Times Roman

Point size: 12.

Double spaced.

Margins: 1 inch margins on all four sides of a word document.

Please send a PDF. No embedded query letter or first page into the email.

First Pages format:

Please send one page.

Top of the Page: In one line Your Name, The Title of Your Story, Genre, Word Count

Next Line: Your story or poem, but the story or poem must be double spaced. This is the publishing standard for the editors and agents to read your work easily and to mark up the manuscript within the spaces.

If submitting a query letter instead of a first page, please be mindful of guidelines as above. 

After Event Submission Invitation/Opportunity: The Little Press Publishing is a closed house. Lynne Marie has given registrants a one -time submission invitation/opportunity.There are no guarantee that The Little Press Publishing House will publish your manuscript. Please note: SCBWI and SCBWI LI is a not for profit organization. Please follow the guidelines on their website.
