Erin Brown bio

For over 30 years, Erin has created and guided stories for print and screen (novels, children’s books, short stories, film, and television). From working one-on-one with authors to advising Hollywood A-listers on season arcs and screenplays, Erin is a story consultant to both pros and beginners. With 30 books published (many on craft), she has spoken frequently since the 1990s on the art of storytelling. Each year, Erin also serves as a national judge for multiple global storytelling contests (20+ years); has been featured online, in print, and on broadcasts (since the 80s); has taught university writing (17 years); and has designed multiple university and online writing programs (fiction, nonfiction, academic). Today, Erin guides authors through speaking engagements, one-on-one consulting, and publishing books on writing craft. Passionate about helping authors create powerful stories through well-structured yet surprising story arcs, resonant characters, and crisp, believable dialogue, Erin’s unique depth of experience helps authors quickly connect with what they need.
