*******LIMITED SEATS******
First Pages is an opportunity to receive feedback from an agent and editor panel on your manuscript’s first page. This doesn’t mean one page within the body of your work, but rather the physical first page of your manuscript.
Each session will be conducted during each breakout. Each participant will have 7 minutes (reading+feedback) to have their manuscript read out loud by a volunteer with feedback from panel. There will be 2 minutes in between to transition to the next body of work.
Your First Page must fit on a single sheet of paper. You may begin at the very top of the page. Include the title and under your title include the genre (i.e. picture book, chapter book, middle grade, young adult) and your member ID number just in case an agent or editor is interested in your work. **Do not add your name
Your first page must be double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman or Courier font, with one-inch margins all around, half-inch indents for each new paragraph, and a single column of text. This often totals 23 printed lines (not sentences) of your manuscript. For rhyming texts, each rhyme needs to be on a new line. Avoid ending your page mid-sentence.
Drop your manuscript copy when you arrive, in the First Pages box associated with the time you signed up for.
Please remember to bring your manuscript with you on the day of the conference. We cannot be held responsible if you miss your First Pages critique due to not having it, and we are unable to offer refunds in such cases.
