Why submit your story for feedback?
Open Mic Feedback is open to writers at all stages of their creative journey. Whether you're just starting out or have multiple works published, you'll find a warm, encouraging community ready to support and inspire you.
Why give feedback?
Open Mic Feedback is a great opportunity to gain knowledge on the craft as you give feedback. It allows you to discover fresh exciting works, to meet fellow creatives, and to support SCBWI members in this important step in their writing journey. Come along to share a diversity of perspectives and create a dynamic, enriching session for all participants.
Who should attend?
Open Mic Feedback is open to writers at all stages of their creative journey. Whether you're just starting out or have multiple works published, you'l find a warm, encouraging community ready to support and inspire you. Participants listen to and feedback on works shared by members.
What should I share?
One page / maximum 10 minutes including reading and feedback.
While we all love to share our most polished moments, think about what feedback would be most valuable. Share a scene you’re struggling with, or dialogue you can’t decide if it is brilliant or self-indulgent. Members are waiting to be immersed in your writing and to convey their experience in a sensitive yet honest manner.
And if I don’t want to share?
We still want you there! The event is a great opportunity to support SCBWI members in their writing journey, meet fellow creatives and learn from other people’s craft.
How It Works:
Registration closes on Tuesday May 6th at 4PM, no exceptions.
