Join us for SCBWI San Francisco/South’s Fall 2023 Scholar-in-Residence Presentation: Persistence Pays Off! How to Stay Focused During Every Stage of Your Publishing Journey. FREE for premium members! $5 for non-premium.
From the first draft to your first submission to your first or even your tenth book deal, there are so many stages in a publishing journey where you can feel lost or unfocused. Charlotte Cheng will share her ten year endeavor towards selling her first picture book, which then led to selling six books in less than a year! For each stage of the publishing journey, Charlotte will also share valuable advice that she’s gathered from several published authors and illustrators. You’ll walk away with a toolbox of tips and tricks that will help you stay focused and persistent, no matter where you are on the path to publication!
Charlotte Cheng creates stories on rocks, sidewalks, libraries, and, once in a while, the good old traditional piece of paper. She has written and illustrated a variety of books including “Explore China: A Mulan Discovery Book” and “BoBo Loves Dumplings”. With over 15 years of EdTech experience, Charlotte has written and published K-12 curriculum for influential companies including LeapFrog, Disney, and Wonder Workshop. She also hosts and produces the EdTech Adventures podcast, which explores the role of technology, STEM, and creative play in education. Charlotte lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she enjoys playing board games and the ukulele while sampling local boba beverages.
