Online event

Everyone hopes to get their books into schools, but what about creating books for schools? From classroom books to curriculum materials, the educational market is booming with opportunities for writers and illustrators! In this virtual workshop, you’ll learn all about this unique and important market from an industry expert.

Meet Our Presenter: Pari Deshpande Cohen, Scholastic Editor

Pari Deshpande Cohen is a Senior Editor in Scholastic’s Teaching Solutions group. She currently works on best-selling mass market products and book sets for young readers, with a focus on bringing authentic multicultural stories into the hands of kids. She was a contributing editor for the award-winning Teacher Magazine and worked extensively on digital materials for teachers. A former elementary school teacher herself, Pari holds a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University in Inclusive Elementary Education. Her passion is finding the voices that aren’t always heard and bringing them to light so children from all backgrounds can see themselves in books. Pari’s favorite project has been publishing her own reader, ASHNI AND THE SARI NIGHT, to help make sure her daughter, Ashni, sees herself in a book.
