HOW IT WORKS

  • This opportunity is for PAL Members only (members with at least one book published with a traditional publisher. Other books can be self-published).
  • If you're not sure if you're listed as a PAL member, please contact ARA Natasha Yim ([email protected]), and she'll look it up on the SCBWI database.
  • Please register for a slot by clicking the green Register for Event button at the top of this page. After paying for your slot, you'll have access to the Sign Up Sheet to select your time. (See more details below under Registration Info.)
  • During your hour, you can bring books, promotional materials, signs etc., but please be aware you'll be sharing the table with at least one other author. Each author is limited to 3 titles.
  • SCBWI does not sell books for members nor do we have the capability to do so, so make sure you bring whatever you need for sales transactions (cash boxes, Venmo or PayPal QR codes, credit card readers etc.)
  • Please check your publishing contracts to make sure there are no restrictions to selling your own books. Most publishers DO allow authors to sell their own books at festivals. You just can't sell to bookstores and compete with the publisher!
  • PLEASE NOTE: To sell your own book in California, a Seller's Permit from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTA) is required. This is a fairly easy online process. You can register for a Seller's Permit HERE.

REGISTRATION INFO

Registration closes Monday, November 9, 2026 at 9:00pm.
