SCBWI SF/SOUTH Words & Wonders

Come spend the day meeting your regional team, connecting with writers, illustrators, and translators from across our region, celebrating our creative community, and honoring the volunteers who make our chapter thrive.

You’ll find lively conversation, fresh inspiration, tasty bites, and surprises, whether you want to meet new kidlit friends, catch up with familiar faces, or enjoy this cozy, supportive space that celebrates kidlit creativity.

Here is what we've planned for you:

• A welcoming, low‑pressure space to meet fellow creatives
• A chance to celebrate our region’s talent and volunteers
• Showcases that highlight our local kidlit community
• Check out the new venue with room to mingle, chat, and share ideas
• Free admission for all SCBWI SF/South members

Participate in one (or both!) of our community showcases:

• Illustrator Showcase: Share a piece of your art and help fill our space with color, imagination, and visual storytelling.
• NEW: Writers Showcase: 50 Words of Wonder. Bring a poem, tiny tale, or other micro‑masterpiece (50 words or less) and display it on a sticky note. Think whimsy, mystery, humor, heart… whatever sparks joy.

Attendees will vote for their People’s Choice favorites in each showcase, and the winners will receive a one‑year SCBWI membership.

Hope to see you there!
