books

Caroline Leech is the author of two award-winning YA novels from HarperCollins — Wait for Me and In Another Time — both set in her native Scotland during World War Two, exploring how young women navigated the pressures of war on the home front. Wait for Me won the 2014 Joan Lowery Nixon Award at SCBWI Houston, as well as the YA categories of both the Romance Writers of America Emily and Lone Star competitions. In Another Time was named a Junior Library Guild Pick, and both books were featured in the TXLA Spirit of Texas High School reading program.

Coaching

Once you have the submission process down, you may want help promoting. If you're nervous about putting yourself out there, Caroline has the experience to help. As well as book coaching and mentoring, Caroline coaches authors and illustrators 1:1 as they prepare for book launches, conference presentations or media interviews. Caroline works to inspire even the most introverted authors and illustrators to feel great about getting out there to talk about themselves, their books and their craft, and to do it all with confidence, professionalism and with passion.

Meet Caroline

Caroline Leech is a Scottish/Texan author, podcaster, and presentation/media skills coach who helps authors and illustrators present themselves and their books with confidence and professionalism. She has been a member of SCBWI since 2011 and won the Houston Chapter’s Joan Lowery Nixon Award in 2015 for the manuscript which was subsequently published by HarperCollins as WAIT FOR ME. Her second YA novel, IN ANOTHER TIME, was published a year later. Caroline now writes and ghostwrites women’s fiction as well as children’s books. Before moving to Texas, she worked across the UK with major performing and literary arts organizations as a Press & PR consultant and trainer in strategic press, media and presentation skills, a role she has recently revived to help authors. Through her individual and group coaching programs, webinars, and speeches, as well as through her podcast, Authors & Audiences, she teaches creative literary artists to identify and implement the best ways to present themselves and their books to the wide variety of audiences they face, wherever they are on their publishing path.
