Watch stories come to life as local authors and illustrators sketch animals, dream up playful tales, and read children’s books inspired by the sights and sounds around them! Did you know - the Austin Zoo is a rescue zoo, working to care and rehabilitate animals.
What are we doing at the zoo?
SCBWI will be hosting write & sketch sessions at the different animal habitats. Get some inspiration, practice your sketches, and interact with kids. Additionally, SCBWI is coordinating read alouds by PAL authors with books about/featuring animals.
Come hang out with your fellow creatives, spend a beautiful April day at the zoo free of charge, and engage with kids through books and drawing.
